Ric Day

Living in Portland, Maine, Ric Day is a retired physician turned furniture and chair maker who has a passion to recognize the efforts of our men and women who have served our country. As a father of a US Army combat veteran and as a physician working with Veterans in the VA Hospital system, Ric has a unique professional and personal perspective and passion that he  uses to help others find the pleasure of using hand made objects and perhaps eventually make their own and find the satisfaction of creating. Zach Jeffrey- Blackbelt Woodcraft

Zach Jeffrey

Located in the St. Croix River valley of Wisconsin, Zach Jeffrey is a master woodworker with a passion for creating beautiful timber pieces. He spent his entire life honing his craft, and after receiving his black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2019, he founded Black Belt Woodcraft, a furniture studio that encompasses his skill set for beautiful design, traditional woodworking techniques, and sharing the art. Tyler Anderson

Tyler is a US Marine Veteran and chairmaker located in Colorado. His style and focus is on Windsor style chairs with a unique use of painted elements that highlights his style. He has a desire to see more Veterans pick up the craft of chair making. Take a look at some of Tyler’s work on his Instagram channel.

 

Kris McGrew

Kris is a US Air Force Veteran and chairmaker located in Louisville, KY. He focuses his style and work in traditional forms of Windsor chairmaking. Kris is also an accomplished instructor where he focuses on helping his students combine the beauty of the material with the techniques involved in chair construction. Roy Adams

Founder and Executive Director, Roy is on a mission to see Veterans Honored for the service and sacrifice. Roy is an accomplished professional in both the military and civilian sectors. After 20 years of service in the US Army and a second career in the marketplace, Roy has now started his own custom furniture business with a focus on chairmaking. Founding Chairs of Honor is a project that combines his love of woodworking and the passion to give back to the Veteran community. Roy is a graduate of the Port Townsend School of Woodworking Intensive program.
