How it Works

Step 1: Select a Chair Type

A Veteran or family or friends of a veteran selects a chair type and submits an application. From this point we will match the veteran to a maker in order to finalize the design. Our cadre of makers have specific skill sets and chair specializations. Therefore we do our best to match the veteran to a maker who can craft the desired chair.

Step 2: Fund the Chair and Story Creation

Upon completion of step 1, we place the chair/veteran on our project page to be funded by our generous supporters and general public. A chair can be funded in a combination of ways from self-funding all the way to crowd-funded. Once a chair is fully funded, we commission the maker to create the chair for the veteran

Step 3: Delivery and Story Capture

Once the chair is completed, we coordinate delivery and commission the video capture of the veteran’s story. After a brief filming session where the veteran is interviewed and provides their story, our creators craft a unique video history for the veteran. This video is then hosted on our domain and a unique digital ID is created to link the chair and the video story permanently.
